Terms of use
These terms apply to everyone who uses Skill Mapping, operated by UNICEF. By creating an account you agree to them.
Last updated 13 October 2026 · Version 2026-10-13
1. Who can use Skill Mapping
Skill Mapping is for employees and approved contractors of the organisation. Use your own work email and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
2. Acceptable use
- Keep your profile accurate, up to date and professional.
- Do not share confidential information, passwords, or particularly sensitive personal data in your bio, requests or feedback. This includes health, ethnic origin, religious or political beliefs, staff association membership and sexual orientation.
- Never enter personal data about children, beneficiaries or other people outside the organisation. Skill Mapping is not a system for programme or case data.
- Do not harass colleagues, send spam, or use the directory to collect contact lists.
- Do not try to access other people's accounts, bypass security controls, or scan or overload the service.
3. Handling colleagues' data
You will see other people's profiles and requests. Use them only to find and give peer support, keep them confidential, and do not copy, export or share them outside Skill Mapping. All personnel must handle personal data in line with the UNICEF Policy on Personal Data Protection. Failing to do so may amount to misconduct.
If you think personal data has been exposed, lost or misused, report it straight away to privacydemo@unicef.org.
4. Your content
You keep responsibility for what you post. Administrators may edit or remove content that breaks these terms or the organisation's policies, and may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
5. Peer support
Support given through Skill Mapping is informal, colleague-to-colleague help. It does not replace official guidance, training or approval processes. Ratings should be fair and constructive.
6. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in the privacy notice. It follows the UN Personal Data Protection and Privacy Principles and the UNICEF Policy on Personal Data Protection. You can download, correct, hide or delete your data at any time from your profile. See your data rights.
7. Privileges and immunities
Nothing in these terms is a waiver, express or implied, of any privileges and immunities of the United Nations, including UNICEF.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Skill Mapping available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change these terms; when we do, we update the version above and ask you to accept the new terms the next time you sign in.
