User guide
Get started in a few steps.
Create your account and sign in
Sign up with your work email and a password, then accept the privacy notice and terms of use. You can reset a forgotten password from the sign-in page.
Fill in your profile
Open My dashboard to add your job title, office, languages and the skills you can share. Give each skill a level (Beginner, Intermediate or Professional) so colleagues know what to expect.
Find expertise
Type a skill or topic on Find expertise. Use the filters to narrow the results, for example by availability, then open a profile to see what the colleague can help with.
Request support
From a profile, choose Request support, describe what you need and pick a support type: Quick advice (under 15 min), 30-minute consultation (about 30 min), Peer learning (1 to 2 hours), Project collaboration (several sessions over weeks). You are notified when the colleague responds.
Track your requests
My requests lists the requests you sent and the ones you received. Accept, decline or complete a request there, and leave feedback once the support is done.
Use it on your phone
Open Get the app to install Skill Mapping on your phone or desktop, so it opens like a regular app.
Frequently asked questions
Who can see my profile?
Only signed-in colleagues. Your profile is never shown to the public or listed by search engines.
How do I stop receiving requests for a while?
Set your availability to Limited or Unavailable in My dashboard. You stay in search results, but colleagues can see you are not taking new requests.
Can I decline a request?
Yes. Open the request in My requests and decline it. Adding a short note helps the colleague find someone else.
My skill is not in the list. What should I do?
Pick the closest skill for now and send feedback suggesting the missing one. Editors review suggestions and add skills to the catalogue.
I forgot my password.
Choose Forgot password on the sign-in page. We email you a link to set a new one.
How do I download or delete my data?
Go to My dashboard to export your data or delete your account. The privacy notice explains what is kept and for how long.
Tips for sharing skills
Small habits that make you easier to find and help.
Be specific about your skills
Instead of only "Data", add the tools and methods you actually use, such as Power BI dashboards or survey design.
Choose an honest level
An accurate level sets the right expectations. Intermediate is a great level for peer learning.
Keep your availability current
Update your availability before leave or busy periods so requests reach people who can help now.
Reply quickly, even with a no
A fast reply, including a decline, keeps colleagues moving and builds trust in the network.
Share what you learned
After a session, leave feedback and note whether the topic should be shared more widely, so good knowledge travels.
